Hypnotherapy is one of the most validated therapies available today. More and more people and professionals are recognising its benefits. Within a few sessions or even a few hours, lasting psychological and physical changes may be made. And it is a safe and effective method to deal with a range of problems without drugs or side effects.
There are no swinging watches or loss of control on your part. Hypnosis is a natural state that we as humans experience everyday (have you ever 'zoned out' while driving long distances or at a meeting? - this is what it feels like to be hypnotised). You will be in full control throughout each session and simply feel a pleasant sense of relaxation and calm.
My holistic therapy approach draws from cutting-edge discoveries and ideas from Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, Cognitive Theory, Neuroscience, Mindfulness and NLP and incorporates them into a modern idea of hypnosis to provide a framework for therapy.
I ensure the suggestions used in sessions are based on your unique model of the world - how you see and experience things. For example, your anxiety and what triggers it will most certainly be different than someone else's. You are a unique individual with different capabilities and behaviours - hypnotherapy recognises this.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) focuses on your patterns of language and thought to help facilitate changes in the way you feel, think and behave. You can be taught NLP techniques that you can practice outside of sessions and use for life to be more in control of negative thoughts, feelings and/or behaviours. NLP techniques can be used in conjunction with hypnotherapy or as a stand alone treatment.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT has been described as "acupuncture without needles". Developed by Gary Craig in 1990, it is a quick technique that may be useful for treating just about every emotional and physical issue that people experience. It has even been shown by research to be useful where other treatments have failed.
EFT is a painless technique that is easy to learn and use and thus is a tool that can be utilised over a lifetime for any issues that might arise. By "tapping" on certain areas around the body (accupressure points) while saying certain statements, EFT often brings startlingly quick results by dramatically reduing or eliminating negative emotions from the mind and body.
The aim of EFT is to return the mind, body and emotions of an individual to a state of balance and to provide freedom from negative emotions that may be connected to past or present experiences or events.

Emotional Brain Training (EBT)
EBT uses stress management tools, neuroplasticity, mindfulness and attachment theory to help you identify your brain state and then uses tools to rewire your old circuits away from stress and into JOY. When using the tools of EBT, you are working to change your feelings, thoughts and/or behaviours at the brain level which makes these tools very powerful when used on their own or alongside hypnotherapy and NLP techniques.
Research has shown the effectiveness of EBT in promoting a broad range of changes in life, which is consistent with rewiring the root cause of stress-related problems at the level of the brain itself.
Emotional issues (anxiety, feeling disconnected from yourself or others)
I thought Gianna was extremely approachable and made me feel instantly comfortable in her company. I think this was essential in me feeling relaxed and therefore ensuring the hypnotherapy was successful. In my case, I was very nervous about getting married and hate being the centre of attention, but Gianna taught me how to turn nervous energy into something good, rather than something that controlled me. I definitely felt that I handled myself better at my wedding than I thought I would and I put this down to my sessions with Gianna. I came to Gianna because I had needle and blood phobia, usually leading to fainting, and wanted to deal with those phobias because I was planning to have a baby.
I'm actually due to have my baby on January 13th and wanted to say that throughout my pregnancy I have had a number of blood tests and hospital appointments and have managed to stay calm and relaxed through all of them, not fainting once, and all thanks to Gianna.
Each time I had to face a test I managed to remain calm and positive because she gave me the confidence and tools to take myself to a relaxing place where my mind is in control of my body. I sincerely cannot recognize myself anymore and I know I wouldn't be where I am now if not for her....
